Our Client is seeking a Risk Analyst to be part of an imbedded risk team assessing the performance and risk within the Company's Power Team. Power Team, the company's wholesale power marketing and trading organization, is responsible for optimizing the profitability of a growing portfolio of assets and load obligations as well as the implementation of risk management objectives.
The position will appeal to an individual that can balance the complexity of in-depth analysis with a customer-centric approach whose value add comes through elevating client discussions to identifying customer needs. The individual must exhibit the ability to understand business decisions in the context of economic, operational, and organizational constraints.
Specifically, the Risk Analyst will be responsible for daily enforcement of Risk Control Manual. This role will also review daily Profit Statement and assist in regional analysis through analytical support. Additionally the role will ensure accurate deal capture within the transaction system and reconcile broker statements. And resolve discrepancies with traders. Also important is the review trade blotters for accuracy and daily price reporting. Daily verification of e-schedules is a part of this role as is the administration of trade confirmation process. The Risk Analyst will perform fossil fuel physical and financial transaction settlements and inventory accounting and support Power Team Fuels Management group and other Finance/Accounting processes.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required or at least 3 years of experience in a business related position. Knowledge of generating station or fuels management activities procedures preferred. Strong organizational and verbal communication skills with ability to handle multiple duties are required as are strong math and analytical skills with an attention to detail. The ability to develop spreadsheet applications and learn other specialized software products (Nmarket, ZaiNet, Internet Web-based processes, etc) is essential as is a demonstrated ability to work closely with peers in a teamwork environment.
