As an ITS-System Integrator I and a member of PNC's Information Technology organization of more than 1,500 professionals, you will be based in Pittsburgh, where you will partner with numerous software development teams to manage the launch of ground-breaking products to our clients. You will be based in the USX Building - 600 Grant Street, where the majority of technology professionals work in a team oriented atmosphere. You will report to an Application Systems Manager. 
 
You will use your talent to complete complex assignments requiring extensive knowledge in areas related to Integration, Relationship, and Project Management. You will be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of your assigned projects. You will be an important liaison between technology and the business you support, as you meet regularly with PNC business units to insure highest service levels are achieved and the appropriate decisions are made.

Qualifications

This position is required to support the eTechnology Group and it's Web Hosting efforts. The main function of this role is to provide engineering services/primary support for our WebSphere and Apache programs (a WebSphere expert!)
 
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Requires 10+ years experience in an engineering and advanced development role with expertise in:
IBM WebSphere Application Server v6.1 or higher
RHEL 4.x or higher
Apache Web Server v2.0 or higher
Strong understanding of Internet and distributed systems technologies  infrastructure administration monitoring/configuration  capacity mgmt.
Strong understanding of development process and associated tools specifically Java WebSphere JBOSS/TomCat ANT Python Perl  Linux.
Qualified candidate must be highly organized with excellent decision making analytical problem solving and leadership skills.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and be able to interface with all levels of business and technology partners.
B.S. in Computer Engineering or related field required - Advanced degree preferred.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the IBM WebSphere program including definition of the overall architecture primary engineering support definition of administration guidelines and configuration management of shared IBM WebSphere Server environments.
Support Java development efforts and troubleshoot shared IBM WebSphere Server environment issues (Production QA and Test).
Maintain Vendor relationships and open/monitor Vendor Support tickets.
Provide architecture reviews and recommendations to evaluate the potential for hosting applications within a Shared Services environment.
Implement automation of administrative tasks including documentation.
Evaluation standardization implementation and documentation of supplemental administrative monitoring and development tools.
Provide guidance for future direction of Java development efforts and Shared Services environments and tools.
Extended hours are sometimes required when working to achieve project deadlines or to assist in resolution of Production system problems. After hours "on-call" support may be required on an as needed basis.
